8,6,8 - These were RCBs position in the last three years and easily they were the worst performers when considering the last three years of IPL. These are not very good stats and indicate there is something wrong with the team and the management. One of the main problems of RCB is they have less number of match winners. Checking the results of the match for the last 3 years, Virat Kohli and AB devilliers was the Man of the Match in a good percentage of the matches won by RCB.
Team Communication - RCB does not look like a team where the players have good communication with other team members. For eg: in the first match against CSK, RCB was all out for 70 odd runs. Most of the batsman were out trying to hit big shots. CSK chased down the target only in 17.4 overs indicating the pitch was slow. RCB batsmen who got out early should have communicated the upcoming batsman to hang on rather than trying shots and score around 100-110 which would have been a winning score.
Identifying players talents - Navdeep Saini was in RCBs squad for the 2018 and he didn't get a game in 2018. But in 2019, he was regular member in RCB squad and played around 13 matches for RCB in 2019 season. He also got selected for Indian national team and played few t20i's. Devdutt Padikkal was in RCB squad for 2019 season and he didn't get a single game. Devdutt was in tremendous form during the domestic one day and t20 series. RCB team management should be proactive in identifying the talents of their players.

What they should do for the auction ?
- Big Hitter - Chinnaswamy Bangalore ground is one of the shortest and batsman friendly ground. RCB should make maximum use of this ground by hiring Big Hitters. A big hitting opener is a must and they should aim for players like Evin Lewis, Alex Hales, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell etc. To provide stability to the team, Virat Kohli needs to bat down at 3.
- Leg Spinner - Leg spinners have a good record in Bangalore. For eg: Chahal has a good record in Bangalore (His T20i best bowling came in Bangalore). Leg Spinners from other team like Shreyas Gopal always had good outing in Bangalore and last time in 2019, he picked a hattrick. It should be a good idea to play one additional spinner in the team to support Chahal. From the auction slot, they can go for the likes of Ish Sodhi or Adam Zampa.
- Overseas Fast Bowler - RCB has got good Indian fast bowlers like Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj. They should reserve some money to buy a very good Overseas fast bowler.
- All rounder and Finisher - RCB don't have a good finisher since ABD is batting at 3. To provide stability, Virat Kohli needs to bat at 3 and ABD at 4 or 5. For all rounder/finishers role, Shivam Dube should be given maximum opportunities. RCB should also look for an overseas finisher/all rounder like James Neesham.
- Wicket Keeper - RCB should also aim to find a hard hitting wicket keeper who can play in the squad instead of Parthiv Patel. Mostly Devdutt Padikkal will be opening this season with the other opener possibly being a big hitting overseas player which will rule chances of Parthiv Patel opening for RCB.
